Generally a great time to visit. Weather is usually dry and quite nice though may be starting to get humid. Crowds are generally low to moderate. It's one of my favorite times to be there!

We were there during that time in 2006 - it was quite hot (upper 80s to low 90s) and humid. Not quite as bad as what we experienced this past October! Very little rain -maybe 2 typical short afternoon Florida showers. Crowds were moderate, and the Flower and Garden Festival was beautiful!!

I forgot - each of those 2 weekends there are some type of triathalon events occuring, out of Fort Wilderness. DIsney's Wide World of Sports website should have more info about them.

That's been our vacation week the last couple of years. We're skipping this year, but taking a Disney Cruise this summer.

It is a great time to go. Crowds are moderate, weather is nice, hot but not too crazy hot, not crazy humid and you can see the end of the Flower and Garden Festival.

There was a running event last year, which really only made traffic a bit crazy on the Saturday morning, since all traffic was re-routed through DTD, but it wasn't too big of a problem at all.

NO, early May is the worst time to go! It is very crowded and everyone is Florida is crabby, the weather stinks, the busses all breakdown in May, the parks close at noon everyday...nobody ever go in early May...never...really never...ever.. and all you positive people stop telling people to go in early May.

You'll ruin it for the rest of us who love to go during that time :)

You have a very valid point. It does seem like the crowds are picking up a bit the last few years. It does tend to rain a bit more often then early on... Yay, don't do early May it's no good. :ack:

2 years ago, we went May 2-9 and we LOVED it! It was hot, but not too hot, lines were minimal, and evening temps were cool, but not so cold that we had to lug a large sweater around with us. Here's hoping this week will be more of the same!:thumbsup:

We're going to be there May 5-12. This will be our first time going in May and our first time seeing the Flower and Garden Festival. I can't wait!
