Looking for weather/humidity and crowd information. Differences between mid-June, and mid August.
Also looking for tips on best way to book good air fare tix and whether better for AirTran or Southwest? This will be first time booking air separate. Thanks!

Weather and crowds will be the same pretty much those entire dates:

Crowded
Hot
Humid
Thunderstorms

:ditto: You can see specific weather conditions on the dates you're considering for the last few years in Info Central under the historic weather conditions page. August will be slightly hotter and more humid, but June is probably slightly more crowded. Also, August is peak hurricane season while June is just the beginning, so there's trade offs to both.

If you're looking for air, sign up for Southwest's Ding! and keep a watch for great deals.

We've been to Disney in both months and take it from one who does NOT handle heat/humidty well.....neither is great but I found June a bit more bearable than August. Take powder and plenty of extra sox, undies and bras to change into something "dry" since these things get ishy after a day at the parks.
As for crowds, just put it into your head that it is DisneyWorld and it will always be crowded. You have to relax and go with the flow down there.
We've flown Air Tran and have been pleased....never flown Southwest.

Enjoy your trip!:mickey:

Never been in the summer, but I know when I've priced tickets between AirTran and Southwest, Southwest tends to be a bit cheaper, plus they have no baggage fees so it is actually quite a bit cheaper, this is for flights leaving Milwaukee, WI.

As noted, it will be hot and humid in both the months you are asking about.

The best way to book airline tickets is to do some comparison shopping so you get a sense of what the rates are. Even if you see a really good rate, be sure to check what additional fees may be charged by that airline. With the current practice of adding additional fees, you may find that the bargain price you thought you got is actually quite a bit higher than competing airlines. There are a number of web sites that are helpful in comparing prices among a number of airlines. Be mindful, though, that bargain carriers, such as Southwest often do not participate with these sites so you would have to visit the carrier's specific web sites to get information there.
