Airline Checkin at Resort?

What if your exempt from luggage fees, even though the airline has a fee for checked baggage, do they still charge you and you hammer it out with the airline at the airport? I'm exempt from the fees, but the airline has a fee for checked baggage but I still want to use the ME service so what's the deal with on my return? Going I'm not worried about it at all since your dealing with the airline itself, it's just the contractors at the resorts.

Interestingly enough, I just called Baggage Airline Guest Services (BAGS) at 407 284-1231and they told me that unless you have some way to "prove" you're exempt from the baggage fees, you'd have to pay them up front OR check the bags yourself at the airport. Not sure how you'd get credit from the airlines in this particular instance . . .
