Another Car Rental Quesion - car seats?

We have found some good deals for car rental. However, we need 3 car seats and find that the cost averages about $12-14 per day. Has anyone come across a cheaper rate for car seats?

Have you considered just taking your own? Are all of your children infants, or are some toddlers now?

Our youngest son needs a car seat (he is 6), and we simply box it up and check it with our luggage if we are flying. I would recommend taking your own...even with baggage limitations. You could certainly put one car seat and two boosters in one case or box to ship as just one of your allotted checked bags.

I would check with your airline but all of the ones I have flown on allow you to check carseats free of charge b/c they are a safety item. I would bring your own. I was able to nest my 2 sons' together and put them in one travel car seat case.

Besides, rented car seats give me the heebie jeebies! :sick:
