California Grill or Brown Derby?

:chef:I want to take my 9 year old daughter to a nice restaurant this trip. She loves watching Food Network with the dishes they prepare, so I thought I would take her someplace where she can get foods like that. Which would be the better choice between Cali. Grill or Brown Derby? Thanks!:mickey:

Without a doubt Calif Grill! The food and service here is so much better than Brown Derby (IMO). The views are amazing! Also, if you really want a foodie experience you can ask to sit at the bar and watch the open kitchen. Sometimes the chef will even give out samples when sitting there. :thumbsup:

IMHO there is no competition. CG blows Brown Derby out of the water. The views from California Grill are the best in all of Disney. You both will love it!!!

definitely do not pick brown derby over cali grill!!! Cali Grill is the way to go! :)

Agree with others. California Grill is a breathtaking experience. Brown Derby is good, but it doesn't quite live up to the other Signature dining.

I agree with the others who have suggested the CA Grill. Ask to sit at the bar.

Other places where you can get the "Food Network" experience of watching the chefs include Flying Fish and Jiko.

I enjoy Brown Derby (great food!) but I don't think this is quite the experience that you're looking for.

While the Brown Derby is one of my favorite places in WDW, the California Grill is better. Especially for the situation you describe.

Guess I'll weigh in too for California Grille. I loved it and I think it might be more "magical" for your daughter than BD. I love the fact that she enjoys the Food Network!
