We always do Chef Mickeys and love it. How does Donalds Breakfast Buffet compare? I saw the price is cheaper.

Donald's gets mixed reviews. We did it in 2006 when it was at Restaurantosaurus and loved it. The food was hot and tasty but the selection wasn't as vast as Chef Mickey's. However, there was still plenty to choose from. The characters were really into interacting with guests.

We actually did both last year - both for the first time. It's always possible you hit on an off day but we found Donald's Safari Breakfast to be rather disorganized. We had a long wait to be seated. We were not seated until after we complained when another family who arrived 45 minutes after we did was seated before us. Still, we noticed another couple who were there before us was still waiting when we were seated. Food was good. Atmosphere was noisy. Chef Mickey's was much better organized. We were seated promptly. Food was good and it was not overly noisy. Character interaction at both was very good.

We have done both. We ate at Donald's for the first time this summer and really liked it. The food was good. We were seated quickly and characters came around twice. We will be doing Chef Mickey in 36 days. :mickey:

We did the Safari Breakfast for our June 2008 trip, and loved it. From oldest (70+) to youngest (6 mo), a great time was had by all. Food was great, hot, and plentiful, and character interaction was best of any character meal we have done. Our party of 12 was seated rather quickly. We consider it a must do for all future trips.

We have eaten at all the Buffet Meals at WDW and Chef Mickey's is one that my family just has to visit each trip. Always good and always fun. We life it for either a late Brunch time meal or for Dinner.
So for us, Chef Mickey's gets the vote.

....Donald's Safari Breakfast was very good .. just make sure you have the earliest reservation, that way you go right on in, well, just after your picture....it was very organized in our instance, I suppose since we were one of the first families there....the food was very good, just slightly down from when it was Donalds Breakfastsaurs....plus, your in a park already, you don't have to travel from the CR to a park....

We ate at Donald's for the first time this past year and really liked it. We had an early reservation so were seated very promptly. The food was great and good interaction with characters. Only downside was that not all the items supposedly on the buffet were out when we ate but we still had a very good breakfast. The last time we ate at Chef Mickey's we had to wait almost an hour to be seated and the little ones were getting very restless plus some of the characters never came to our table and would walk right past us. I don't think the food was any better either. We are going to do Donald's again this year. It is easier to get ADRs for this one.

We've done both.
IMO the food and character interaction are better @ Chef Mickey's. Servers seemed to be more on top of things there too.
Although, since they increased the seating capacity there the character visits are a lot quicker than they used to be. We practically had to tackle several of them to get a picture with more than one person.
Sorry, but at the prices we pay for a character breakfast, if grandma decides she wants a picture with Minnie, Minnie should be able to wait the 5-10 seconds it takes rather than dashing off to the next table.;)
