She is going to be close to 9 months when we visit next week. Is there any type of ride she is allowed on? Like the 3D movies? Also can get access a scooter?

Probably not :sob:. Even the movie ride has some parts that some might think a bit scary so I am sure they would reccomend against that. Just read all of the signage outside each ride.

Yes, she can see all of the 3D movies, and ride a good number of rides. There will be signs posted at each ride with any restrictions.

She can also rent a scooter.

I hope you all live close in case she goes into Labor while there. I had both of my kids 2 weeks early, and would not have wanted to be far from home having my babies. My doctor always advised not to travel during the last month or two of pregnancy. Good luck to her.

Depending on her own comfort level and how "big" she is, she can do quite a bit. Basically, any ride without a height restriction is a "yes."

She should obviously not ride anything with a warning.

She might also think twice about such tame rides as the WDW railroad. It can be a bit bumpy, which is usually not noticeable, but when 9mos pregnant can be agony.

Renting a scooter is allowable to anyone. They are available on a first come, first serve basis. They are pretty expensive, though. I'd recommend a wheelchair instead. Can be used as needed and they are actually larger and more comfortable than the ECV's.

The walking will be good for her. She will find that sitting or standing still for long periods of time is very uncomfortable. When I was that pregnant, I was in good shape and had only gained about 30lbs, and STILL I was really only comfortable when I was walking, in a pool, or laying on my side in bed.

Just take it slow, and make sure she knows to stay WELL hydrated!!! Even in the cold.

I went with recently dislocated ribs and so I should imagine my restrictions were roughly the same (being that I could not risk any twisting or jolting that would push the rib heads back out of the socket again).

That said, I did some stupid things so I could serve as an example of what not to do.

DO NOT ride any fast rides, period. What goes fast is going to have to stop faster than a pregnant belly wants to or should.

DO NOT ride any jarring rides, like Star Tours, or Dinosaur. You feel every jolt, believe me.

DO NOT overdo it. Rest often, drink a whole ton.

DO NOT go into any situation you cannot exit out of in the event of a problem. My mother's last child was born 45 minutes after her first contraction. You do not want to spend 20 of that in POTC.

Be absolutely sure you know where the closest hospital is. The first hard contraction is not a good time to discuss where the best hospital is, especially when there might not be enough time to get there. Especially when we are talking about an early, but not too early, birth.

Personally, having lost eight pregnancies, I would not travel in or near the 9th month period, but I know you have no control over what she does. All you can do is be prepared on your end.

I'd recommend the scooter. There's no way I'd want to be walking (aka. waddling my heavy body around) that much at 9 months pregnant, unless I was trying to induce my labour! Without getting too graphic, walking a lot in the last trimester helps the baby get lower in the pelvis and ready for birth. Like I said, with both my kids, I was miserable at 9 months and just wanted to lay around like a beached whale. So I'd say a scooter is a must.
Everything without a height restriction (and subesquent 'pregnant women should not ride' restriction) is fine. Yes, even 3D movies are fine too. :D

Be absolutely sure you know where the closest hospital is. This is exactly what I was thinking. I had my youngest son within 30 minutes of my first contraction. My SinL had a baby on Wednesday, that wasn't due until February 14 -- so you have to be prepared and figure out all the logistics of getting to the hospital if needed.

I don't know that I would be travelling anywhere that close to my due date, with or without a wheelchair.

But if the baby was born at Disney, think of all the appropriate names you could have.

Walt
Roy
Cindy
Belle
Ariel
and many more.

My husband always joked that if a baby is born in Disney they become an official citizen of Disney World and they get free admission for life; which is why they would happily escort anyone in labor off property right away! When I was pretty pregnant with my DD, now 7, he would joke that the CMs followed us around to make sure the baby wasn't born there! LOL - he's so funny!

thanks for the info! I'm going to get her a wheelchair in case. She is technically not due for 4 weeks. She has had 2 kids already and great child births so I'm not worried. I just want her to be comfortable

Well, it's always the "last one" that comes fast! Every progressive pregnancy has a shorter labor/delivery.

Smart to get her the wheelchair. She'll appreciate it.

OH NO..... don't Jinx IT!!!

Have a great time and keep that wheelchair handy. If not for her but for all the cool stuff you can buy.

GOOD LUCK WITH EVERYTHING!
