I know that WDW has published plans to close SM for refurb in January on the 3rd, but since that's a Sunday and it is a holiday weekend do you think they delay the close until Monday?

I wrote a letter asking the same and was called back and advised that they plan on closing on January 3rd.

Darn... we arrive on the 3rd and I was hoping we might be able to run over and get at least one ride before they close.

do you think they delay the close until Monday?

1) Usually the start of rehabs are planned pretty tightly.
2) There are many things that are scheduled/phased:
. . . manpower
. . . contractors
. . . supplies
. . . equipment
3) But, keep hoping, as you never know.

Sunday is the first day of the Disney week. I think refurbs often start on Sunday because then everything can be scheduled on a week boundary.

In my experience, the refurbishments at WDW usually start when scheduled. However, they are sometimes completed earlier than planned. :mickey:

My girlfriend and i are going in Feb and are upset it will be down. Oh well,they have to do it i guess. When was the last time it was refurbed?:-o:mickey:

The last extended refurbishment (to the best of my knowledge) was back in 2007.
