I was just thinking about this "attraction" today. For those of you who don't know what it is, it's 5 o 6 very large tiki god statues that sit near Aladin's Carpet Ride and the Jungle Cruise. When you walk through Adventureland, you hear these bongo-type drums playing. I've always just heard them and dismissed them to musical ambience. But last trip as I was waiting for my wife and daughter to ride the Carpets, I was standing directly in front of the Tiki Statues. Each statue produced a different drum tone, but they all worked in sequence to make a drum-song. It was surround sound Disney style.

I never noticed that each one is making its own drum! it is like a tiki statue drum set lol. I'd think most people just hear the ambience, thats all I ever heard.

And don't they squirt water, too?

They are really cool!

No. I think that's the camel near on the other side of the Carpets. And it got me once.:D

Yep, they squirt. My wife got a great pic of me getting pegged in the chest this last trip!

Love those tiki statues! :mickey: They do squirt water, but this feature doesn't seem to be on all the time.

That's weird. I stood there for 20 minutes and never saw any water squirted.

Yup and stand in front of them long enough and you will find out exactly what else they can do :tikki:

It could be they operate seasonally, only in the warmer months. Florida winter to us still seemed very hot when we were there in November but we're from England, I'd imagine this is the same for the Northern states and some parts of Europe.

However people who are used to the hot weather (the types who wear a sweater to Disney in the winter months) would probably not take kindly to getting soaked with water. In which case they may have decided it's sensible to only use this feature when it's warmer.

Just a thought.:mickey:

It is! I'm from Connecticut, and we thought Florida winter was like the perfect weather! All of the CMs and FL natives looked at us like we were crazy to be walking around in short sleeves when it was in the 50s and 60s!
