Mattel Mindflex Game?

DD9 is obsessed with getting this (or a Star Wars version, that doesn't look as interesting).

I haven't seen one in a store or anything, just in a catalog and online. Has anyone played with one? Is it worth the money? I read some very conflicting reviews on Amazon.com, so I'm not sure what to think.

I'm having surgery in early December, so I've got to get Christmas shopping done before then. I'd like some feedback someone who knows whether it works or not. I don't want her to play with it for half an hour and be bored with it.

My DS, 9, wants either of those two as well, and like you, I'm not sure its worth the money. Not that its expensive, but I just hate to spend any money on junky toys. I'll be interested to see what others have to say.
