Lightning McQueen and Mater are, well, a Little Scary!

I was glad to find a place at DHS where my GrSon could pose with Lightning McQueen and Mater (http://www.gregcable.com/disneyoct09b/images/DisneyOct09_124.jpg) but when we approached them my little guy needed a couple of minutes get close.

These guys rumble and race their engines and move thier eyes.

I'd say to my 3YO "Put your hand here" indicating lightning's fender then when he did, "Brooom" went the moto and GrSon would jump.

Still, good fun!

My sons were scared of this too when they used to do that at DCA. However, they have turned them "off" for the past year or so. The eyes still move around, but instead of the revving, there is just background music from the movie playing. I think TOO many little ones were getting scared. I was glad to see the change, since my younger one is a HUGE Cars fan, and it was sad to see him so scared of the cars when they used to make noise. Now, though, we go and visit his "friends" about every week when we visit the DLR. It's his favorite thing to do!

When the Cars are in the Pixar parade, though, they still DO rev up!
