Day 7 – Friday, Sept. 18

Overview: I set the alarm this morning. Aside from dinner and Fantasmic!, we had not spent any time at DHS yet, and I wanted to have plenty of time today! But, when no one even moved at the sound of the alarm, I turned it off. We made it to DHS about 10:30. We went immediately to TSM to get FPs - they were for 3 pm. We rode RnRC first. DS is cutting it pretty close on height. He passed the height test outside, but once we got inside, he failed. He was going to ride with his Papa, so the two of them were escorted out. But Papa convinced them to remeasure, and he passed! The two of them got to ride in the very front.

We then trooped all the way over to Pizza Planet for lunch, to meet some family. A BIL met us there – our SIL woke up sick :ill:, so he was on his own. We were going to watch the Indiana Jones show, so BIL and I walked over to get FPs for ToT and then we were going to meet everyone back at the show. On the way, we changed our plan and decided to go to the car stunt show instead, so we texted DH to meet us at ToT. There was only a short wait for ToT, so we decided to get FPs for RnRC instead. BIL and I tried to get a quick RnRC ride in, too, but the single rider line was too long. So we all rode ToT – terrifying! And probably my favorite ride because of it!

Then we watched the stunt show. It was definitely worth seeing. It was also HOT sitting inside the stadium with all those people, and the temperature was not really that hot for Florida (maybe 85 to 90?), so I might rethink seeing the show in the middle of August. After the show, we headed back to RnRC and ToT, then used our FP for TSM. I wondered what the big deal with with TSM, but after riding it, I totally get it. It is SO much fun!

We had 5 pm ressies at ‘Ohana, so we hopped on a bus to the Poly. Amazingly, all 31 of us (even the ill SIL rallied to be there) arrived at ‘Ohana on time, and we were seated soon after 5. We had 5 tables in the side area near the entrance to the restaurant. It was such an enjoyable dinner. DH and I got to sit and talk to family, and everyone really enjoyed being together. At the end of dinner, the kids shared glow in the dark bracelets and necklaces. We had to say goodbye to many of our group after dinner. :( But a fairly good number decided to go back to DHS, as they were open until 9:30.

When we arrived back to DHS, our main objective was to all ride ToT together and get a photo. We had 13, so we didn’t quite fill a car, but the CM was very accommodating. She gave us a car to ourselves and took photos with 2 cameras before our doors shut. The photo turned out great! We bought several 5x7s. Then we headed to RnRC. The kids rode 2 or 3 times with an aunt who had a handicapped pass (you can bring up to 6 with you on rides), while the adults waited in the single rider line. It was quicker than the regular line, but it was not quick! After RnRC, some of the group decided to stay for Fantasmic!, but we headed back to POR. DH took the kids to swim with the cousins while I got everything packed up. Yes, boo hoo, we have to leave tomorrow. But I am determined to get to MK one more time and (hopefully!) get Daisy’s autograph and hit some of the rides we missed out on.

Food: DH and I both thought the pizza at Pizza Planet was really good! It was the one CS meal that we really liked.

The food at ‘Ohana was wonderful. All of the meats were delicious, the noodles were very good – oh, I can’t remember what all they gave us, but it was all good. And then, the banana pudding – it was to die for! DH normally won’t even try anything like that, but his cousin got him to even try the foster sauce, and we both LOVED it! Our table got seconds, and I think we all ended up eating thirds. My favorite dessert of the trip, by far!

Road Bumps: At ‘Ohana, we were sitting kind of off to the side. The performer came over in our vicinity and sang a few lines at the very beginning of her show, and that was all we saw of her. The kids in our group did not get leis, did not get to be in the parade, didn’t get to do anything. I was having such a fun time talking that I didn’t even realize it until we left. So if you are seated off to the side and want your kids to be in on the fun, make sure you pay attention and get them involved if they are not invited. Granted, we still had fun, but the kid fun was one of the main reasons I booked ‘Ohana. I will pay more attention next time!

Magical Moments: During the day, we lost a back to one of the kids’ trading pins. We asked a CM if he could tell us where to buy a new back, and he took a back off one of his own trading pins and gave it to us. It had not even crossed my mind that he would do that for us. So sweet!

I got to sit by DS on one of our RnRC rides. The CM had to tell DS to put his arms outside the shoulder harness – he already had his arms up for the ride, but they were up through the harness instead of outside it. The look on the CMs face was priceless – kind of a mixture of awe and disbelief that this little guy – barely tall enough to ride! – was putting his arms up for RnRC. DS was wild – his hands were up all the time, on every ride, in every photo. Even ToT – how is that possible?! I have to hold on for dear life.

I'm so pleased that you were able to spend so much time at DHS today. I agree that the LMA Extreme Stunt Show is really hot, but if you've never seen it before it's definitely worth it. What a total crack-up about DS and his arms in the air! :D

While I'm sorry the kids didn't get a chance to participate in the coconut races or the limbo at Ohana, I'm glad you had a good experience here. It's certainly one of our "must-do's" each trip.

I hope you're able to do everything you'd like to at MK on your last day! :mickey:
