Oct. 10, 1961 – Jodi Benson, the voice of Ariel in Disney’s “The Little Mermaid,” and Barbie in “Toy Story 2,” was born in Rockford, Il.
Oct. 10, 1965 – The 3rd episode of Disney’s TV Series “The Further Adventures of Gallegher: The Daily Press vs. City Hall aired.
Oct. 10, 1993 – The Disney TV special “The Making of the NHL’s Mighty Ducks” aired on KCAL in Los Angeles, CA.
Oct. 10, 1995 – Winnie the Pooh’s 70th Anniversary CD, “Take My Hand: Songs from the 100 Acre Wood” was released.
Oct. 10, 1996 – The 4th annual “Jazz Fest” began at Pleasure Island in WDW. Some of the musicians to headline the event were: Jeff Kashiwa, Greg Karukas, Craig Chaquico, and Keiko Matsui.
Oct. 10, 1997 – The Disney film “RocketMan” was released.
Oct. 10, 1998 - Figment’s Corner, and Image Works closed at Journey into Imagination as well as the Journey into Imagination ride for rehab and would reopen as Journey into your Imagination ride.
Oct. 10, 2000 – Disney’s half-hour television series “The Geena Davis Show” debuted on ABC-TV. (Ended July 12, 2001)
Oct. 10, 2002 – The Walt Disney Company and Frito-Lay announced a new multi-year agreement by which Frito-Lay Snack Products will be featured at both the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts.
Oct. 10, 2007 – The Walt Disney Co. inducted three new Disney Legend’s. They include: Floyd Norman, Art Babbit, and Dick Huemer.
