Valet Tipping...when and how much?

I have a couple questions...

When using valet parking service at the resorts, when do you normally tip..

When the valet takes your car...
When the valet returns your car...
or both??

And how much do you normally tip??

We tip $2 every time the keys change hands.

So when we leave the car with them we give a tip, and when they bring it back to us we give a tip.

That's correct ... the person that takes your car might not bet he same person that retrieves your car. $1-2 is appropriate, and since most people omit the tip from the initial contact, they really do appreciate even $1.

I read somewhere that it should be $2 when you drop it off and $3 or $4 when you pick it up. Sounds like $2 for each person should work fine also.

If we increase that cost as much as Disney has increased everything else then you better tip each guy about $50 even if their attitude is bad..;)
