We are moving to Florida!

Well everyone it is official DW and I are moving to central Florida by the end of the month! I was offered a job in Clermont about 20 mins west of Disney so off we go. We are excited, scared, anxious, and nervous. Eva is going to volunteer with Hospice down there and this is really going to be a great step for us!
If anyone has any advice or any info about the Clermont area please let me know. :D

Keep us posted on how it's going. My DH & I want to move down too, but are still on the fence. We've looked around Cleremont and the surrounding areas. It looks really nice, but the summers have me worried.(way to hot!)

Some very good friends of ours live in Clermont, actually! I've visited them down there a few times, and it seems to be quite the developing area (new shopping and restaurants ALL the time!) and it is A VERY quick drive over to Disney! The father of the family is actually a monorail driver so he commutes from there to work. I'm sure you'll love it! If you would like more information or have specific questions, send me a pm and perhaps I can get some e-mails going back and forth with them for you!

My parents live in Clermont and it's very nice. The changes that its gone through in the last few years is amazing. They first moved there about 12 years ago and it was literally in the middle of nowhere. Now, they have anything you would want, and close to Disney to boot! :mickey: You can't get much better than that. I would love to move up there to be closer (am in south FL now), but I have a good job here. Maybe one day . . .

I would love to move to Florida. My wife and I almost did about a year ago, before the economy went topsy turvy! But the job offer fell through. That seems to be the hardest part...landing a job in Florida from out of state. How did you do it!?!?
After you get settled, I recommend visiting (Disney obviously) the Gulf Coast, Anna Maria island near Bradenton. Clearwater is nice too!

Welcome to The Sunshine State! :sun:

We don't live in Clermont, but we visit the area fairly frequently (our favorite vineyard, Lakeridge Winery) is located there, as is our eye doctor.

That area has grown enormously in the seven years that we've lived in the area, and the vast majority of the development has been of the desirable type.

Congrats, that's awesome! If you enjoy biking the West Orange trail ends out by Clermont, you can take that through Oakland which has a lot of old Florida charm to it and through Winter Garden which has a wonderful downtown with a farmers market on Saturdays, live music on Friday nights and car shows once a month. I'll be back from my summer travels by the weekend and can't wait to see it again! :thumbsup:

Congrats! DW & I think of such a move often. I here that Clermont is nice, including the fact that it's somewhat hilly in areas (for Florida). Please keep us posted.
