View Full Version : Expedition everest closed?

I have an app for my iPhone that tells me the wait times for every ride. When I checked it today it said EE was closed. Does anyone know why? I didn't check the refurb calender so it could be scheduled I don't know.

Rides go down all of the time. It most likely had an issue at the time you looked.

Not scheduled, must be a fluke. I'm sure it will be back soon.

if you go to itunes and do a search under disney apps,you will fing it,it is called wait times, i have it also and a bunch of other cool disney apps

I believe, don't quote me on this, that I saw somewhere that there was to be a 3 day shutdown of Everest in October for some maintenance issues with the Yeti.

That was the rumoured plan I just hope it's actually taking place and I get to see a moving Yeti in December.

That would be amazing if the Yeti were fully operational when we get there in November! I've never seen the Yeti when he (she?) was fully up and running...just in B-mode (strobe lights).

From what I've heard (and seen), it would take a lot more then 3 days to get the Yeti back into A-Mode.

My wife and I were able to ride EE with the Yeti! It was great:thumbsup:! I hope they get him going again!

Going on Sunday and EE is DH's favorite ride! I hope they get it back up!

EE was open yesterday afternoon when we were there. Can't vouch for the morning, but it was definitely open at 2pm.

Darn! That thread was fun. We just returned this past Sunday and there were no EE shutdowns when we were there.

Not like at the MNSSHP last Friday when both BTMRR and Haunted Mansion closed for technical challenges.

I was at AK last week and EE was open. They have a new Yeti and it was freakin' scary! It looks like it's going to actually grab you!

I was at the MNSSHP that Friday. Haunted Mansion never opened again after closing, but we got to ride BTMRR before it closed, thank goodness!

Phew...I'm glad we did the MNSSHP on Thursday night, then. We went back and forth for a while on Wed. about which night...Thurs or Fri...we would do the party.

No, it's the same yeti. The difference is that's what the yeti is SUPPOSED to be doing, but mechanical problems were keeping it from doing so. I rode Everest a lot not long after it opened and believe me, what you saw has been there since day 1 it's just been turned off for an exceedingly long time.

Yeti was down while we were there.. All we got was a brief glimpse thru the strobes, i coudln't tell ya what he looked like at all :(

Oh well, they have til 2012 to have him fixed for me... LOL

I have to chime in that I downloaded the disney wait time app and I am addicted to it. It is fun during the day to see what wait times are. Thanks again for the tip!!!!!:thumbsup:
