View Full Version : 'Standing Room Only' for Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party?

I just booked an ADR for the Wishes Dessert party in MK and the CM on the phone said it was 'standing room only'...that they don't reserve tables for anyone. However, I've read on multiple websites that when checking in, parties are escorted to a table with a name card on it for them. Did they change their policy on reserving tables? When I asked the CM about this she said that it's always been this way and they've never reserved tables for people. I'm confused...

1) Doesn't really matter.
2) They are only a few tables with a view.
3) Most people have to stand at the wall to see.

When I walked past in July everyone was standing by the wall watching the fireworks :fworks:

It matters to me because I have two young children and I can't imagine trying to juggle both of them plus desserts while standing. From the looks of things many of the desserts need spoons or forks - it's not like a buffet of finger foods. I have no problem standing for the fireworks but we have to check in an hour before the fireworks start. In all the photos I've seen there are tables where you can sit and eat your desserts and then once the fireworks start, stand by the railing to watch. A CM today told me that there are no tables at all and a CM yesterday said that there were tables, they just weren't 'reserved'. I'd really like to get some clarification on this one because it's very frustrating to hear so many different versions from Cast Members. Has anyone been there in the past week or so?

My Mom is going tonight (I'm just a little jealous)... I'll ask her to report to me and I'll get back to you. Especially if no one else has the info. :mickey:

We were there in July and really enjoyed this treat. When we arrived we stood in line with all the other people with reservations. When it was our turn to enter we were assigned a number and were escorted to a table with our number and name on it. At that time everyone had a seat at a table to enjoy the desserts and yes you would definitely want a table. Our table was right in front and we had no trouble seeing the fireworks even with people standing near the wall. I can not imagine not having a table to hold the desserts and drinks. We were told that a table may not be available but everyone had a spot to sit when we were there.

I just spoke to my Mother who was at the Dessert Party last night. When they got there (it was her and her best friend), they were told which section they were in A, B or C. They were also given wristbands so they could exit the restaurant to use the restroom and be identified as Dessert Party people (it was also a Halloween Party night, so lots of wristbands for them). They were then taken to their section and were set loose to find their table, which did indeed have their name on it. My Mom compared it to finding your table at a wedding. So you will have a table assigned to you! You will only have as many chairs as people in your reservation. My Mom said the restaurant wasn't full, there were even some reserved tables empty from no-shows. Go figure - perhaps they didn't know you needed a ticket to the Halloween Party.

When it was time for the fireworks they were told they could stand by the wall (I'm not sure what that means, as I've never been to that restaurant) and they couldn't move their chairs from their table. Supposedly every one had a great view.

My Mom said it was worth it for the two of them, but to pay $100 for dessert for a family of four might be a stretch.

Hope that answered all your questions! :mickey:

Thank you SO much for the report!! That is exactly what I thought it was going to be, so now I'm very happy. :-) Yes, I do agree that paying $100 for dessert is overpriced for a family of four, but thankfully 2 members of our family are under age 3 so DH and I only have to pay for ourselves. I'm excited!

We were there in mid-August and had a table with our names on it. The view of the fireworks was the best ever. For our family of four the cost was $76.64
