How old do you have to be to have your own room at Disney?

A girlfriend is thinking about letting her daughter go for graduation with a friend.

I am pretty sure one person must be at least 18.

Eighteen, but don't you have to have someone in the room who is over 21 if there is someone under 18 in the room? That was the policy in a couple of resorts I used to work for.

1) The only requirement is 18 years old, with ID.
2) This is for the person checking in.
3) Regardless whether 1,2,3,etc other people in the room are under 18.

We did this in May, 2007. We took my son and two of his friends. He was 18 and the friends were 17. We booked under my son's name and he had no problem. They stayed at Pop Century and we stayed somewhere else.

Wouldn't the 18 year old also require a credit card to put on file? Just wondering.

You don't have to put a credit card on file - they just need photo ID to check in. Without a credit card, they won't be able to charge purchases to the room unless they pay cash in advance (I think you can do that).

Cool. By that time they'll all be 18-19 (I'm not sure but one may even be 20 by then). Their looking at flying so they won't need a car...won't really be off Disney property.

They'll probably pay cash for everything. Since both will be graduates (one's already in college) they should be able to get and emergency credit card. But certian they'll be fine.

I'm pretty certian Mom and Dad are going to end up going. It was just a thought going through their minds to possibly do something else.

16 year olds can get CC with their name on it under the family account. Some can even have
special limits set. We used this set up for Student
trip to Germany over 6 weeks.
