Chapman Recording & Mastering announced that, after a nation-wide competition, Bret Iwan, a former illustrator of Hallmark greeting cards has landed the coveted job of portraying the Walt Disney Company's beloved Mouse. It's been reported that Iwan has recorded several spots as the famous character already, although none are believed to have been released yet.

If you to go to their website you can see a pic of Iwan. It also says the first recordings were for a learning toy and some spots for Disney Cruise Line.

I was just thinking about this.

My 4yo watches Mickey Mouse Clubhouse almost daily and I was wondering if they would continue production with a new voice.

My understanding is that they will continue making new shows of Mickey Mouse Club House with the new voice. Can't wait to hear how he does, but I'm sure if Disney picked him it'll be spot on. They're not going to play around with that franchise voice.

I don't think that this is official yet. I went to a seminar at D23 about Mickey Mouse and they said that a new voice had not been picked yet.

My guess is that the leak was unintentional. It came via the company that records the voice. Disney has not had a big unveiling yet.

It's not official and things could change. I'll believe it when Disney sends out an official press release. I believe he's only doing limited work while they keep their options open.

I'm just wondering if Russi Taylor will still do the voice of Minnie. She was Wayne Alwine's wife and I imagine that must be hard to have to record with another person instead of her late husband.
