Sept. 4, 2001 – The “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” attraction opened at Tokyo DisneySea.
Sept. 4, 2001 – The “Journey to the Center of the Earth” attraction opened at Tokyo DisneySea.
Sept. 4, 2001 – The “S.S. Columbia Dining Room” Restaurant in New York Harbor in the American Waterfront area of Tokyo DisneySea.
Sept. 4, 2003 – The new show “Disney On Ice Presents Disney/Pixar’s Monsters, Inc.” opened at Orlando’s TD Waterhouse Centre. (The show would run through Set. 7, 2003.)
Sept. 4, 2004 – Disney’s “Goofy Country Dancin’ Jamboree” attraction in Frontierland at in Magic Kingdom in WDW closed (when it reopens it will feature Jessie, Woody, and Bullseye from Toy Story 2.)
Sept. 4, 2004 – Florid’a major Central Florida resorts and the theme parks, including WDW, closed due to Hurricane Frances.
Sept. 4, 2004 – The Disney Magic pulled into Galveston’s Harbor (in Texas) as Hurricane Frances forced the liner from its course home to Port Canaveral, Fl. Because of Frances, the cruise line is allowing passengers to leave and search for a alternative means of getting to their homes.
Sept. 4, 2006 – Tokyo DisneySea Park’s newest attraction “Tower of Terror” opened to guests.
Sept. 4. 2007 – “Disney Princess Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams” was released on DVD.
Sept. 4, 2007 – It was reported that Boca Raton – based Florida Atlantic University recently received a Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund Award. (The Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund distributed $1.5 million in 2007, and has given out more than $11 million since Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park opened.) Atlantic University would use the fund to help with sea turtle recovery efforts.
