Sept. 4, 2004 – The Disney Magic pulled into Galveston’s Harbor (in Texas) as Hurricane Frances forced the liner from its course home to Port Canaveral, Fl. Because of Frances, the cruise line is allowing passengers to leave and search for a alternative means of getting to their homes.

(The Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund distributed $1.5 million in 2007, and has given out more than $11 million since Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park opened.) Atlantic University would use the fund to help with sea turtle recovery efforts.
