Sept. 3, 1993 – Disney’s syndicated 2-hour TV special “Going Bonkers” aired.
Sept. 3, 1996 – The 5th annual Disneyana Convention took place at Disney’s Contemporary and Grand Floridian Beach Resorts at WDW. (It would run through Sept. 7, 1996.)
Sept. 3, 1996 – Disney’s animated TV series “Quack Pack” debuted as part of “The Disney Afternoon.”
Sept. 3, 1997 – Disney Interactive closed at Innoventions East.
Sept. 3, 2001 – Disney’s “The Legend of Tarzan” (a half-hour TV series) premiered on UPN and in syndication.
Sept. 3, 2001 – The “Walt Disney – The Man and His Magic” exhibit, which used items from the Walt Disney Family Foundation, ended its near 4-month run at the Ronald Reagan Library & Museum.
Sept. 3, 2002 – Disney’s “The House of Mouse” in “Mickey’s House of Villians”, a mix of classic shorts, was released on video and DVD.
Sept. 3, 2004 – The Tom Joyner Family Reunion, scheduled to play at WDW this weekend was cancelled due to the threat of Hurricane Frances.
Sept. 3, 2005 – The “Disney Magic” returned home to Port Canaveral, Fl. from its first-ever journey to the West Coast, completing a summer-long schedule of voyages to the Mexican Riviera in honor of the 50th anniversary of Disneyland.
Sept. 3, 2007 – Disneyland’s 2nd Annual Half Marathon (“The Happiest Race On Earth”) took place with more than 13,000 runners. The winner was Carlos Carballo, 24, of Cathedral City, Ca., with a time of 1:10:07!
