picking up public transportation

We promised our son this year (he just turned 17) that we would go to Universal on our Oct. WDW trip. We only will have the RV... so we can't drive that.... way too expensive to take the van services. I had read that you can take public transportation from Downtown Disney to Universal? Does anyone know where a public transportation bus stop would be that I could get to easily from Disney property?

I prefer just staying on-site... but a promise is a promise.
