Okay everyone, I walk in the house tonight and my wife is making dinner. She says to my DD and I "oh, I got you guys a surprise for after dinner but I'm going to give it to you now". So I'm thinking chocolate, right? So she walks in with this box and I open it with my DD and there's a toothbrush and q-tips and toothpaste. Now I'm thinking I showered this morning...what the heck is this all about. She says "keep digging". After moving all the tissue paper aside I find a CSR room confirmation. Are you freaking kidding me! I almost hit the roof. I'm going to WDW!!

Lights, decorations, the whole nine yards! :thumbsup:This is the one time of year we've never been to WDW and we are going from 12/3 to 12/6. It won't be a long trip but we're going. :cloud9:

My DD is alittle worried about missing one day of AP history but life is just to short to worry about one class.

My DW had to get special permission from her big, big boss to miss two days of work because that's a big no no during December for her (its their busy time of year). She loves me!!

Wow! What an amazing surprise! I don't know how she did it, I could never keep a secret like that. I'll bet the look on your faces was priceless! Did she get a picture?

08-29-2009, 06:37 AM
Thanks again everyone! No pictures...then I would have known something was up.

This is the second time she surprised me with a trip. Six years ago she got me for my 40th birthday. We stayed at they Contemporary over Halloween and did the MNSSHP.

I'll definitely have to remember her at x-mas!

Does anyone know how the Osborne Lights work? Is that just something you walk through or is it a separate charge to enter?

How about the Candlelight Processional?

wdwfan
08-29-2009, 08:55 AM
Osborn lights you just walk through, no extra charge. The Candlelight Processional is, in my opinion Fantastic! There is a lunch/dinner package you can purchase for guaranteed seats or you can stand in the line for guests who do not purchase package.
The info can be found on <snip> Moderator added INTERCOT link instead, http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/holidays/christmas/cp.asp

If you want to book the CP package the call in date is 90 days prior to arrival date and they do allow the + 10. You do have to call appears not able to use online booking system.

After moving all the tissue paper aside I find a CSR room confirmation. Are you freaking kidding me! I almost hit the roof. I'm going to WDW!!

You could have saved yourself the trouble of three strokes of typing thou :mickey:...the letters C-S-R were completely unnecessary as there was no doubt as to which resort you would be going to (or which resort you call home). Thanks for all the info you offer up on Coronado Springs (its been really helpful to us in the past). Hope you all have a great trip.

How exciting! I'd love a surprise like that, but I'm usually the vacation planner.

There is information on the Candlelight Processional (http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/holidays/christmas/cp.asp) :ornament: right here on Intercot - in our Info Central section.

and the Osborne lights (http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/holidays/osbornelights/default.asp) :tree:

There is also a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/holidays/christmas/mvmcp.asp) while your there. :santa:

Have fun!

I recommend you definitely get the Lunch/Dinner pkg for Candlelight. It is a fantastic concert/show. We did the general admin line one year and waited 2.5 hours. BArely got in. Last year we did the dining and it was fantastic. After you pay the bill at dinner, they give you a sticker to wear that gets you in. You have to specifically book the package. We waited 30 minutes that time and had a terrific seat! You can book 90 days out and that's coming up very quick!

Osborne lights is overwhelming and walk-through at your pace (mostly). We went years ago and got to stroll around at our own pace and it was great. So many lights but we got hot cocoa, cookies and the snow fell. It was relaxing. This past year we went after fantasmic and it was a nightmare. Too many people, SLOW, no cocoa (lines!) or cookies. You want to get over to the lights if you can find "off hours" because it can be crazy.

Have a great time. Surprises rock!

The Osborne Lights are a must-do! We saw them for the first time during our last trip (Thanksgiving week 2007) and are really looking forward to them again this year.

We're also going to try MVMCP for the first time this trip! We can't wait.

Have a wonderful trip!

p.s. You remind me of my DH - I think he may love WDW more than our DDs!! :mickey:

What an amazing surprise! I hope you gave her the biggest hug and kiss ever!!

It always amazes me when people tell stories like this because we have so little money that we could never plan a trip like this as a surprise. We have to scrimp and save for years to have enough to go that everyone knows what is going on.

How wonderful!

If it helps at all, let your DD know that I once missed five days of my AP class in high school to go on a family vacation and still managed an A in the course and a 5 on the AP exam. She'll be fine! Everyone taking AP classes needs to relax and enjoy themselves sometimes!
