Has WDW always had higher rates for weekend dates, or is that new? I may not have noticed before because I booked packages. Now that I'm looking ahead on my own this time, I'm getting a better feel for the pricing breakdowns.

I'm thinking of a Sunday - Monday, 8 night, 9 day trip, August 22-30, with a standard room at Port Orleans Riverside, which would be 6 weekdays at $149 and 2 weekend days at $159 for a total of $1212 for the room, plus tax and whatever...
(Of course none of these dates are even close to definite, i'm just hashing things out. After all, I haven't even consulted my wife, who I know doesn't want to go in the summer.)

In any case, those numbers don't sound too bad at all. :mickey:

Okay, I thought so. Thanks for the reply, that clears a lot up. Another money-making scheme by a large corporation. I guess we have to go along with it since they do give us such wonderful memories. (I just wish the memories were a little more affordable so I could enjoy them more often.) :mickey:

Another money-making scheme by a large corporation.

1) They started this last year.
2) Get more revenue by higher weekend rates.
3) Plus, if the "season" changes, you are charged daily.
4) So, you can't save money by spanning "seasons".
5) And, yes, it is another way to be a money-grubbing company.
6) As long as people continue to pay, WDW will continue to getya.
