Going to Las Vegas for our anniversary. We are not really big gamblers (prob will play a few slots just for fun!).

Lion King Show: Best seats? What do you get with the VIP tickets? Best day/time to go?

Carrot Top: Best seats/tickets?

Best place to stay & why?

Best places to eat?

What is the "Do not Miss" things we should do?

Have fun in Vegas. If you are going soon I would suggest getting your Lion King tix now. We were there in July and every show sold out. The center section is the best. You can go to the Mandalay bay's web site and see the seating chart. I do not think the VIP thing is worth the money. It is also very hard to get. You will love the show!
As far as best hotel it really is personal prefence - how much you want to spend, where on the strip you want to be, etc. The same thing goes for resturants. You can go for standard buffets (not cheap anymore) to very expensive elaborate places. Emeril has several places in Vegas that are great. Table 10 in the Palizzio is wonderful. We also like Dick's at Excalibur ( you must enjoy interactive fun with the servers)
You must see the foutains at the Belliago. We enjoyed The Secret Garden at the Mirage. They have a baby dolphin that is too cute.
we spent alot of time just checking out the various hotels. There is a nice gondola ride in the shops at the Venetian.
If you are going before mid october be ready for the heat!!! We went last September and it was 104 in July it was 108 with it being 90 at midnight.

Went to LV in June and been before

I have stayed at the Bellagio & Caesars and both are very good . I would have a slight edge for Caesars no real reason maybe the pool and restaurants .

The Bellagio has an incredible buffet and thats not to be missed . Paris has a good one as well .
I recommend taking a ride up the eiffel tower and wait for the bellagio fountain show .Thats an amazing view .

The shows to see in my opinion .... Jersey Boys , Circus de Soliel "O" is breath taking
I saw the Lion King and was about 4 rows from the front ,in my view the best seats are in the middle and about 6-8 rows for a better view .
If you want to have a laugh go for the Fab Four show ( Beatles tribute band ) at Planet Hollywood

If you fancy taking a brave pill ...Then go to the Stratosphere Rides :D
Madam Tussards is fun as well

The Veniatian is amazing ...But all in alll we loved just walking down the strip and visiting the many varied hotels andgoing on their rides or having a drink in there

Helicopter ride at night of the strip is awesome and we did a 3 hour raft ride of Black Canyon which was brilliant . If you go to the grand canyon dont get ripped off on the Skywalk .Your not allowed to take your camera or camcorder you have to pay for a picture taken by them

Have fun and happy anniversary :beer:

When are you going and for how long? It will be less expensive if your stay starts Sun, Mon, Tues. The closer you get to the weekend the more expensive.

For an inexpensive steak dinner go to Ellis Island Casino & Brewery. ( not to be confused with NYNY ). It is a block behind Bally's. The corner of Flamingo Rd & Koval. For $6.95, you get a salad, steak, green beans, baked potato and choice of a beer or homemade root beer. It is not on the menu. Just ask for the steak special. This is also a great place for breakfast. Check out their website. :mickey:

The 2nd place I visit more than Disney is Vegas.
I've stayed at Caesar's Palace, Monte Carlo, Bellagio, Mirage, Harrah's, Paris, the Flamingo and Wynn

As previously stated it depends on how much you want to spend on a room but I would suggest trying to stay in a room on the strip.
Shows not to be missed:any Circue du Soleil Show O, Le Reve, LOVE, and Ka are some of my faves. Buy your tickets before you leave home since they are practically impossible to get while your there. Make sure you check out all the hotels since they all have something truly amazing about them. Also check ticketmaster to see if your favorite entertainer might be on tour while your in Vegas. Some of the best concerts I have seen while I was on vacation in Vegas.
