We are going to WDW in January and would like to take the Magical Fireworks Voyage. I think that you have to be a "group" of 8...we only have 3.

Has anyone ever done this voyage? Can you tell me what it's like, how much it costs? Then I guess I'll need to find a group of 5 who want to do it with us :)

Are you talking about the Pirates and Pals Voyage.... for wishes? We are thinking about doing this in Dec... it use to be for grand gatherings only, but they changed it to everyone in July. I know the prices are 53.99 for adults and 30.99 for kids 3-9. I've been looking all over the boards for anyone's post on this. But i guess no one has really written anything on it.

Yes! Thanks for the info. I couldn't understand why they sent me a brochure for something we didn't have enough people to do.

This will be our first winter trip so we want to mix it up a little :)

From what I've heard, you meet at the CR at least an hour before the cruise. You go into the ballroom where you can get some pre-packaged food (granola, popcorn, cotton candy, cans of soda, water) and have a meet and greet with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. You board one of two boats with a pirate escort (characters do not come on the cruise). Typical Disney fun and games onboard while waiting for the fireworks. When you get back to the dock, Peter Pan will meet your boat.

As mentioned, this used to be part of the Grand Gatherings option, but it's now open to everyone. You don't have to find anyone else to help you fill the boat ;).

...guess we need to find 6 more ppl :blush:You needed a party of 8 when it was part of the Grand Gatherings. As mentioned, this is now available to anyone and you only buy the seats you want. You don't have to fill the boat yourself.

We did this the last time we were there and it was great! If you can do it..go for it. The kids loved the characters and like someone posted you stock up on snacks beforehand... they you make a walk out to the boat with the characters and then you go out on the lagoon with a pirate who should be hillarious if you're lucky like we were. The fireworks are breathtaking from there and then we ended with Peter Pan on shore giving autographs and taking pixs with the kids. Have so much fun!!!
