Aug. 19, 2002 – The Travel Channel aired “Disney Imagineers” for the first time.
Aug. 19, 2004 – Disney producer and supervisor Harry Tytle passed away at the age of 95. For 40 years he worked (alongside Walt Disney) as co-producer of the Disney TV series. Tytle also wrote the book “One of Walt’s Boys.”
Aug. 19, 2005 – The Walt Disney Pictures Present animated feature “Valiant” opened in theaters.
Aug. 19, 2006 – “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” had its last show at Disney-MGM Studios in WDW.
Aug. 19, 2006 – Kumiko Mori, Japan’s popular television personality, made her worldwide debut on Disney Channel’s “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.” Mori is the host of Disney Japan’s “Disney Paradise,” a variety show based on Disney trivia.
Aug. 19, 2006 – “The Great American Concert: Walt Disney’s Fantasia with Fireworks” was performed for a 2nd night at the Hollywood Bowl in Ca.
Aug. 19, 2006 – Disney Channel aired the series finale of “Phil of the Future.” The episode “Back to the Future (Not the Movie)” was the 43rd and last show about the Diffy family.
Aug. 19, 2008 – Disney’s “Camp Rock: Extended Rock Star Edition” was released on DVD.
Aug. 19, 2008 – Disney’s “Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert – The 3D Movie!” with Jonas Brothers was released on DVD and Blu-ray.
Aug. 19, 2008 – Disney’s Karaoke CD “The Cheetah Girls One World” was released in stores.
