We were there in June of 1973. We rode the FREE ride sponsored by Eastern Airlines. FREE because you had to BUY individual tickets back then.

1978 but unfortunately I don't remember what ride I rode first..... it's been tooooo long!

I do remember having to buy the packet of tickets and them being different letters, the E's for the best rides of course! I do remember riding Space Mountain, twice, and I don't like roller coasters, and have never been on it since. I also remember this family giving us (I was on my honeymoon, husband left me 2.5 years later, but I still have DW!!!:cloud9:, priorities here folks, priorities;)) the rest of their tickets because their 15ish year old daughter didn't want to be there with her parents, not cool you know, lucky for us and already the start of Disney Magic!!

Haunted Mansion - 1994

I remember being so overwhelmed our first trip that we just wandered around the Magic Kingdom and when we finally came to the Haunted Mansion we decided - time to start riding!:D

Awesome ?
Mine was in 1988 and it was Space Mtn. I'm very sad to hear it is being refurbished this year. Oh and I rode my first ride by myself- went with my mom, aunt and cousin and none of them like rides. Ah the memories.

Buzz Lightyear in 2006. First time there so our touring plan was...wander off to the right and look around vaguely for something to ride. NOW when we hit the park it is straight to Splash Mountain, then Big Thunder, then Space ;-)

November 1975 as a group we rode the double decker bus, an "A" ticket, up Main Street. Because our group had won our trip to WDW they allowed us to ride both ways for only 1 ticket.

Yup, "If You Had Wings". We rode it in '76 and I was awestruck. Of course that could also have been because I was on my (delayed) honeymoon. DW and I are still married too, SallyP.

I loved that ride. Near the end it seemed as though you were going real fast because of the film all around you. if you looked outside your little buggy you could tell you were still going painfully slow, but what a blast. Rode is many times.

1998 - Walt Disney World Railroad

This has become tradition for us, once we get into the park first time in a holiday we go to the station and take the train to Mickey's Toontown Fair.

We start off looking around here, Goofy's Barnstormer is our first rollercoaster of the holiday. After we're finished in Toontown we stop at the teacups en-route towards Tomorrowland. :mickey:

My first ride was POTC in 1986. I was six years old and I remember I was terrified and clutching my dad's arm. He said, "Do you think I'd let anything happen to you???" and told me to relax and enjoy the ride. That was my first fond memory of WDW and probably the reason POTC is still my favorite ride.

Funnily enough however, I didn't become a WDW junkie on that first trip though. I wasn't particularly impressed and kept whining about getting back to the hotel to go swimming:confused: My parents were ticked;)

As long as you do count neither the monorail nor the boat ride over, my very first ride ever at DW was Space Mountain in 1971 (I think). If I remember correctly, I needed a ticket to ride it. I was just a kid and I remember the first ride like it was yesterday.:mickey:

It was 1989 in DisneyLand and the POTC. :mickey:

Like many others, I was gawking around the park while being dragged by the hand by my then-fiance-now-DH, to POTC ~ his fav ride! :cloud9:

Didn't become a DisneyAddict , though, till a trip to the World in 2000. My DH still regrets talking me into going to Florida. :funny: serves him right . . .

We were at the campground in a motorhome. We had a the ticket book with the A-E rides, plus HDD for $12.50 and The FW Railroad for 50 cents. I think we took the boat to MK and zippy skippied to Space Mountain. I remember we got the front car and my friend screaming how she didn't want to be first. I remember feeling like I wanted to duck.
I think we settled down after that and did free stuff, COP, Dream Flight(or If you had wings, or If you could fly or whatever)
My most vivid memory though is Peter Pan.
