View Full Version : We're Going To Disney World!

Well, in an earlier post I explained that this was our "Disney year" - we've gone every other year since 1999 - but I didn't think we'd make it this year because DH has been out of work since Dec. 2008. The Southwest Airlines deal was an offer we couldn't refuse! So we are going after all, for a comparatively modest trip for five days the week before Thanksgiving.

Just learned that Space Mountain is undergoing rehab...supposed to reopen Nov. 21, so we'll be able to ride if that date holds...any thoughts on whether or not we can bank on that?

It's younger DD's fave, so we're all hoping for the best!

Congrats on being able to make the trip! :) It would stink if you'd have to miss.

I'm really not sure about the Space Mountain, but just hope for now.

Kind of Off Topic, but I'll be there about a week after you. :o

Congrats! In all the years since Disney opened it's gates at MK, I missed one. That was the year of the birthday cake on Cinderella's Castle.
At least we are back in FL, I can go when the Disney Bug bites!

Daisy's Mom: How awesome that you've been able to go to WDW every year (except one)! Funny - we were able to go the year of the birthday cake...

Lakin: You have fun too! We went Thanksgiving week in 2007 and really enjoyed it. We ate dinner on Tgiving at Liberty Tree! So much fun...

I'll keep hoping the Space Mtn rehab finishes on schedule! :thumbsup:

Hopefully SM will be open on time for you. We're going to miss it on our next trip:(

Congrats!

I didn't think I was going this year because money is tight, and I've been going every year since I was 6 years old! So I accepted the fact that I'd wait till next year. We go in November every year!

Some of my family booked their trip lastweek so I was just looking into airfare for those dates and found airtran $54/each way per person!!! I could NOT pass up $140/roundtrip per person, so we finally booked it and we're staying at Pop Century 11/14-11/21!! I am sooo happyyyy! We got the free dining and upgraded to the regular DDP for a very low price! I coud not be happier right now.

10 days til we make ADR's!!!

I went the year of the birthday cake...that was so incredible that they could do that to the castle. I was absolutely amazed!

My husband and I just decided to go this year as well when the free dining came out. It will be our first anniversary while we are there, so it will be extra special. :cloud9:

Have a great time. I hope Space Mountain will be open for you guys. We're bummed that it won't be open for us.

congrats! we're going for a long weekend in october just for the food and wine festival, but that was almost non existant. As stated though airtran came through with a amazing price so we jumped.. have fun!!
