X-mas Parade & Crystal Palace

It looks like the taping of the parade will take place on our first morning Dec 5th. We always start at MK. Originally, I was going to try to get an ADR for Crystal Palace’s breakfast. Will we still be able to have access to Main Street and the front of the Castle for pictures before the park opens or will it already be roped off ?

That day is a nightmare and unless you really want to stand there for the taping I suggest another park, ANY other park. We were there in 2007 and the park was horribly packed and my blood pressure was REALLY HIGH.

That's probably what we'll end up doing.
It will just seem odd not hitting MK first.

yeah, i had another thought -- that day is a one-day trip for many locals and so they will have only a 1 park ticket, which means there is no slow time until at least after dinner. You might be able to come back at night and find that things have calmed down, but someone else will have to let you know if the park ever does thin out on taping day.

They start prepping for the parade really early (I think it was 7AM the year I went) and folks are given a special admission to get in early. Speaking for the year I watched the taping, most of the people around me were APs and CMs. The "special" segments were taped first and then the "parade" was taped over and over in the early afternoon. Guests not wanting to watch the taping were escorted through the back stage on the right near Tony's. It joined the park near Tomorrow Terrace.

It would be difficult to get to Crystal Palace but not impossible. (The taping seemed hard to watch if you were not part of the early morning group but you could get along the parade route rather easily around noon.)
