I find it hard to believe, But I have just finished my 19th year at the same company !

I know how you feel. I'm well into my 17th year with this company.

You know, when you think about it, we are the lucky ones. How many companies keep employees that long anymore? Most try to oust employees before 5 years - saving them retirement and post retirement medical expenses. (Beside the fact that the longer you are with a company, the higher on the pay scale you are. [or should be!!! :D ])

I couldn't agree more, having been with my previous employer for 18 years, and 11 with my current.

I left my previous place of employment after a number of management changes including personnel and philosophy. To thank me for my 18 years, they walked me out the morning after I informed them I was leaving.

Weak child labour laws in New York, I am guessing. I have the same situation. I have been with the same employer for 30 years, next Thursday. And I'm only 40 years old! Although, sometimes parts of my body tell me I'm older.

Congrats! It must be a good place to work. I would have retired from the last place I worked, but the owners sold and the new company stunk!

That's amazing these days.

I would have been approaching the end of my 14th year at Sprint, but instead after more massive layoffs I'm in the midst of a job hunt.

One of the things I like about the company- In my department - I work with people who have been here longer than me.
