Labor Day Week

Is everyone going to WDW Labor Day week? I'm kidding actually, but you wouldn't know it if you tried to book a meal that week. We figured it would be a relatively quiet week (post holiday of course) with the kids back in school. But everywhere we've tried to book has been a tough negotiation. I know they are running the free dining program, but it is surprising.

Does Disney "mothball" certain sections of hotels during off seasons? And do they similarly cut back on restaurant seatings during these times as well?

I'd imagine it's due to the free dining. Sort of depends on where you are trying to get reservations also! Since the restaurants fill up during the promotion, a lot of people are on the ball with making their dinner reservations as soon as they can. Just try to be flexible with the times and places you want to eat. From what I hear, the restaurants are packed, but the parks are very manageable. good luck to you!
