end of summer vacations and opening of school for kids

When does school start by you? Is anyone planning last minute vacations before kids go back to school?

It starts Sept. 8th where we are. Nothing planned for end of summer, but we'll probably go away over Thanksgiving break.

School starts on August 10th for the kids this year. I'm a teacher so I have to go back on the 5th. We have no trip planned this year. However, when I retire, I'll be one of those people who will finally be able to take advantage of the lighter crowds in September! I can't wait for that day to come.:mickey:

School starts here on the 2nd of September. We are going Aug 26-Sept 3. Our kids will miss the first two days. :mickey:

My kids go back to school on Sept 9 (Wed).
No vacations planned.

Schools start on Aug. 31 and we leave for Disney on Sept 2nd. He will miss 6 days- but have already talked to his teacher and she said she would give me stuff the week before so we can work on it.

My DD is a sophomore and part of a home school consortium. They go back on the 18th and she only has classes 2 days a week. However, we are planning to miss a week of school and go Sept 26th for a week. We havent been for 3 years and this last year has been rough! We are both ready for some fun and swim season takes up most of her summer...so we are going to indulge a little and play hooky.:blush: Swim meets dont start up again until mid Oct...and her Birthday is Oct 1st so it works great with the discounted season rates too!

School starts here on August 19th. It is almost going to be year round by the time my kids graduate. :mad: It keeps starting a day earlier every year and still lets out at the same time.

We are hopefully going for a few days Sept 10 - 15. The kids will miss three days.

School here starts Aug. 26th...I wish that they would wait until after Labor Day like they did when I was in school but I guess the Wed. before is just better...:confused:

Our kids go back the day after Labour Day (on September 8th). We will be at WDW from August 23 to September 5. Can't wait! :clappy:

Locally our schools start Aug 31.

My girls are homeschooled and we will start back full time Aug 17. We are leaving for our Disney vacation on Sept 18 and will be taking two full weeks off then.

I wish we started back as late as some of you!Teachers go back on the tenth of August. That's right around the corner!
