July 6, 1978 – The cast of TV’s “The New Mickey Mouse Club” performed 4 shows at Disneyland’s Space Stage Theatre in Tomorrowland. (The open amphitheatre would eventually become the home for the “Honey I Shrunk the Audience” attraction.)
July 6, 1993 – Actor Jeremy Suarez, the voice of Coda in Disney’s 2003 “Brother Bear,” was born in Reno, Nv.
July 6, 1994 - Captain EO had its last showing in the Journey into Imagination Pavilion at Epcot.
July 6, 1997 – Country star Travis Tritt performed at Pleasure Island in WDW.
July 6, 1999 - Global Neighborhood closed for rehab in Spaceship Earth.
July 6, 2004 – Kianga, a 230-pound female African elephant calf was born in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
July 6, 2004 – Disney’s 1978 “The Cat From Outer Space” was released on DVD.
July 6, 2005 – The Walt Disney Internet Group and Sprint announced an agreement through which Disney would create the first national U.S. wireless phone service specifically designed for families. The service would be called “Disney Mobile,” and would use Sprint Nationwide PCS Network.
July 6, 2006 – The World of Disney store in N.Y.C. hosted Pirates in the Big Apple, an event to celebrate the opening of the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Curse.”
July 6, 2006 – The 58th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards nominations were released. Disney Channel’s “High School Musical” received 6 nominations.
