June 23, 1995 – The “Meeko’s fast-food facility opened in Fantasyland at Dsineyland. (Replaced Yumz) (Closed Sept. 5, 1997)
June 23, 1995 – “The Spirit of Pocahontas” show along with “Fantasyland Theatere” opened at Disneyland. (Closed Sept.4, 1997)
June 23, 1999 – “Tarzan’s Treehouse” opened in Adventureland at Disneyland, replacing “Swiss Family Treehouse.”
June 23, 2000 – The Walt Disney World Summer Jam Concert, featuring a lineup that included Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias, Destiny’s Child, Smash Mouth, and BBMak, aired on ABC-TV.
June 23, 2000 – Sotheby’s in N.Y.C. hosted a 6-day exhibition of the art of Disney’s “Tarzan” and “Fantasia/2000.”
June 23, 2000 – The National Jump-Rope Championships began at Disney-MGM Studios at WDW.
June 23, 2004 – A set of four 37-cent postage stamps, 23-cent postal cards and printed stationary that comes with 37 cents of postage featuring Disney characters were issued by the U.S. Postal Service. (They would go on sale nationwide the following day.)
June 23, 2005 – An official dedication for the Ward Kimball Disneyland Railroad’s newest engine took place.
June 23, 2006 – The cast of Disney’s newest stage musical “Tarzan” appeared on NBC-TV’s The Today Show.
June 23, 2006 – The animated film “Leroy & Stitch” aired on the Disney Channel for the first time.
