Bar at Jiko's resturaunt

Has anyone eaten at the bar/kitchen area at Jiko's resturant? I'm eating at Jiko on my next solo trip and am thinking of asking to sit there. They say you can only request it at check-in. If you've eaten there, did you have to wait extra time?

We have. Guess things may have changed as we were able to just walk up and sit down. We also found that we could order the same food as if we were inside the restaurant.

It's very small. There's not that many seats at the bar then a few small lounge tables. Alot of people have a drink there while waiting for their ADR's. You'd probably be better off dining at Jiko if you want to try the food there (excellent by the way).

The Victoria Falls bar upstairs in the hotel is much larger. Not sure what the offered menu is though.

Ate there last summer when working in the area. I really enjoyed it. Talking with the chefs and observing. I would definitely do it again.
