I've had enough people try to talk me through uploading videos from my handycam to my laptop and from there to YouTube and MySpace, that I finally sat down and got out the instruction manual and gave it a shot...

The result is that RELIX finally has some better quality videos uploaded online!

I'd recommend checking out these YouTube links before checking our band site (especially since I haven't finished uploading over there and the quality on YT versus MS is vastly different!)

First, a couple of very recent videos from the Brewzerz 4th Anniversary Party;

HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN

HARD TO HANDLE

Can't recall if I'd reported on that weekend...? I'll have to double back and look!

Next video is from Louisiana College's 43rd Annual Cochon de Lait back in April and the appearance on stage of my ukulele for the 1st time;

LION SLEEPS TONIGHT

Enjoy, and leave comments either here or there - spread the word to help us get some big viewing numbers too PLEASE?!?!?! _______________________________________
Hmm, I guess after rereading I do need to fill in some gaps!!!

The 6th we partied hard with the crew at BREWZERZ, helping them celebrate their 4th Anniversary in true ROCK-n-ROLL style!!!! They had a lot of bands to choose from that night, but they chose us and we felt really honored.

It was a loooong night, and as we arrived the Karaoke Contest was still going on - some really talented people were up on that stage! Once they finished and the winner was chosen by the crowd, we hastily set up and fired off into the show!

Throughout the night a bunch of fun activities were held to get the audience involved; Women racing to **** beer from baby bottles, Men racing to empty full bottles of beer (I think the winner was UNDER 3 seconds!), Motorcycle Burn-Out Contests (1 fella's belt was shot and another fried his transmission!) and of course, the Wet T-Shirt Contest! There was just a LOT of non-stop activity all night and we had an elevated view of the whole thing!

We ended up playing an extra set, in essence nearly a 5 & 1/2 hours (less breaks)! We even shared a few of our origonal tunes with the crowd to a great reception!

This last weekend we returned for our 1st show of the season out at the OXBOW MARINA. It's under new management and the funny thing is the new guy remembered from from years and years ago (he used to work with my brother.) The crowd was less than 50 all night (although it was reported that people around the lake and in cabins were on their porches drinking and rocking out too.)

A handful of our regulars from Brewzerz even showed up and stayed the entire night! Guess that means we have a following!

Anthony (the manager) told me during our last break that we were "the most polished he's heard locally" (which means either he hasn't heard a lot of other bands or maybe we are that good?)

We'll play Brewzerz this weekend and then have 2 weeks off so I can recuperate from surgery before hitting the Oxbow again.

Here's a few more vid's posted today;

BREAKING AWAY

This is one of the songs I've written being played in India.

WHAT YA GONNA DO?

Another of our own songs written by Chris & Chad.

PARANOID

Yeah, not sure this song needs much explanation for those in the know! :thumbsup:

CD News; I spent 2 nights in the studio last week recording rhythm guitar parts for a few more songs and doing all vocal parts (lead, harmony & choruses) for 5 songs (or was it 4?)
This week my good buddy and former band-mate from the OFF LYMITZ days, JT Sober (now with PLAN B) and his son Ryan (a monstrous lead guitarist as well) are here and starting Tuesday night we'll be in the studio so they can lay down lead guitar solo's for me. Once they leave I'll take at least a week off while I heal and then maybe go in so we can at least start mixing down whatever we get finished this week, which should put us at maybe half the songs.

GLAD Y'all are enjoying the videos! I'm so proud of myself for finally learning how to cross that technological hurdle in the the 21st Century!!!

A quick update on my side project (the CD entitled "TRANSITION").....

Over the last 2 weeks, 4 sessions were held in order to take advantage of my friend JT Sober and his son Ryan visiting from Alabama. JT and I played in various bands starting back around 1984 (WARRIOR) before forming OFF LYMITZ (version 1) in 1986 and lasting until 1991, after which time he moved to AL. and has been in a number of bands since then. He comes annually to visit family who are still here in Louisiana and we get together and jam - this time since I've been working on TRANSITION I begged him to set some time aside to come to the studio and lend a hand.

So, during these last 4 sessions (2 before they arrived) we managed to actually complete a handful of songs;

*THE QUIET ROOM ‘81
John Barrell; Rhythm/12 String & Bass Guitar, All Vocals
Steve Barrell; Drums
JT Sober; Lead Guitar
*PLASTIC FOXES ‘81
John Barrell; Rhythm & Bass Guitar, All Vocals
Steve Barrell; Drums
JT Sober; Lead Guitar
*YOU AND I (LOVEHEARTBODYMINDFEELINGSOUL) ‘98
John Barrell; Rhythm/Acoustic & Bass Guitar, Sitar, All Vocals
Steve Barrell; Drums
JT Sober; Lead Guitar
Ryan Sober; Lead Guitar on Outré
*EVERY LITTLE THING (REMINDS ME OF YOU) ‘08
John Barrell; Rhythm/Acoustic & Bass Guitar, All Vocals
Steve Barrell; Drums
JT Sober; Lead Guitar
*SHE MUST HAVE BEEN AN ANGEL ‘96
John Barrell; Rhythm/12 String/Lead & Bass Guitar, All Vocals
Steve Barrell; Drums

As well, a number of songs are now in the "near completion stage" (listed is what will be the finished lineup for these songs);

-ROCK AND ROLL MAN ‘82
John Barrell; Rhythm Guitar, Lead & Backing Vocals
Steve Barrell; Drums
JT Sober; Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals
Chad Montgomery; Bass Guitar
-ONE MORE TIME ’83
John Barrell; Rhythm/12 String & Bass Guitar, Lead, Backing & Choral Vocals
Steve Barrell; Drums
JT Sober; Lead Guitar, Choral Vocals
Ryan Sober; the Alien
-KISS OF THE DRAGON QUEEN ‘89
John Barrell; Rhythm & Bass Guitar, All Vocals
Steve Barrell; Drums
Ryan Sober; Lead Guitar
JT Sober; Lead Guitar during Time Change

This still leaves about 4 songs left to work on and then the cleaning up, mixing, post-production and mastering begins as well as coming up with graphics.

So hang loose - Things are really moving now!!!!
