We are traveling to the world in Dec with my family. As my parents live in FL I was going to have them get a TIW card. In reading the literature online it looks like you can no longer have them split the check for each family and still receive the 20% discount? Has anyone done this lately? We can always have my parents pay for all the meals and then write them a check, but I like the points on my own credit card to earn money for my next Disney trip.

You can just present 2 forms of payment.

We always split the check, but not have the server write 2 checks.
We just give him/her 2 credit cards at the end of the meal and have it split 50-50.
Or, you could just designate the amount to be charged to each card.
You could do one amount on a credit card and cash for the rest.
Really- you have lots of options without getting 2 checks.

That might be what the literature says, but I've never had an issue with it. We routinely dine in a group of 10 to 15, with 3 TIW cards between us, and they will usually do 3 checks with discounts applied.
