June 9, 1997 – “Operation: Toy Story,” which features the Green Army Men Van made their debut in their caravan down New York Street at Disney-MGM Studios in WDW.
June 9, 1998 – Walt Disney released the CD “Disney’s Instrumental Impressions.”
June 9, 2000 – The Disney/Touchstone film “Gone in 60 Seconds” was released.
June 9, 2002 – Toon Disney celebrated Donald Duck’s 68th birthday with a special event called “A Whole Darn Day of Ducks”
June 9, 2002 – As of this day, a credit card is required to secure a priority seating at WDW’s Cinderella’s Royal Table Once Upon a Time character breakfast.
June 9, 2004 – Donald Fauntleroy Duck celebrated his 70th birthday with a party at Disneyland Paris.
June 9, 2005 – Robert B. Sherman and his brother Richard M. Sherman were inducted into the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame. They have written tunes for such Disney features as “The Sword in the Stone,” “Mary Poppins,” “The Jungle Book,” and “The Tigger Movie.” Their theme park music include “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” for the “Carousel of Progress” and “It’s A Small World” for the attraction of the same name.
June 9, 2006 – The Disney/Pixar’s computer animated film “Cars” was released in theaters.
June 9, 2006 – A brush fire flared up near WDW, causing parts of U.S. 192 to be closed.
June 9, 2007 – Press Previews began for Disneyland’s newest attraction “Finding Nemo: Submarine Voyage.” The attraction would be open to the public June 11, 2007.
