June 2, 1989 – Touchtone Pictures, part of Disney’s Buena Vista Entertainment, released “Dead Poets Society”, starring Robin Williams. (GeneraL release was June 9, 1989)
June 2, 1989 – The Disney Channel aired the 30th episode of MMC. “Today is Hall of Fame Day!”
June 2, 1991 – The Disney TV pilot “Our Shining Moment” aired on NBC.
June 2, 1997 – The Disney half-hour game show “Make Me Laugh” hosted by Ken Ober, began airing on Comedy Central.
June 2, 1997 – Space traveler, Story Musgrave appeared at the Disney Institute at WDW. An astronaut, surgeon, mathematician, computer analyst, pilot, parachutist, ex-marine and student of the humanities, Musgrave shared his wealth of knowledge as the Discover Magazine scientist-in-residence at Disney Institute.
June 2, 1998 – The soundtrack to Disney’s “Mulan” was released on Walt Disney Records.
June 2, 2002 – The Nelson’s finished out their 2-day engagement at Epcot as part of the final Flower Power Concert Series for 2000 at the American Garden Theatre.
June 2, 2002 – Epcot’s “Journey Into Imagination with Figment” was dedicated at WDW.
June 2, 2003 – The Disney short “Destino” was released and given a surprise world premiere at the Anney International Animation Film Festival. (Originally an abandoned project from the 1940’s, the piece features the beautiful work of Salvartore Dali.)
June 2, 2007 – The completed “Ratatouille” was viewed by the Pixar staff at a wrap party. (The film would be released June 29, 2007)
