Anyone have the chance to ride this yet? Is it worth it and what are the costs? Looks pretty cool from the pictures I have seen. :thanks:

My wife and I did it during our trip May 5-11. The cost was $16 per person and we thought it was pretty cool.
We had a nice view of Saratoga Springs (where we were staying) and got some great photos of Downtown Disney.
You could also see Expedition Everest and the Tree of Life off in the distance.
It was a little hard to move around though, because you had to make sure to keep everybody's weight evenly distributed.
Our guide was very nice. She did a good job pointing things out and answering questions.

This sounds like a good idea to get some pictures. Do they only do this during the day or will they do it at night as well?

It was down, from what I understand, our entire trip May 13-19 -- due to the wind (first couple days) and the weather (last couple days). So we didn't get to try it :(

The hours are 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., and until 12:00 a.m. on Friday & Saturday. (Weather permitting.)

Thank you for the Info, Now I'll attempt to convince DW to go on it with me. She's not afraid of heights; It's the not so soft landing if she falls!

I'm looking to get some night time photos.

My hubby is afraid of heights, but I am wondering if he would be ok with this. Any thoughts?

I would imagine that totally depends on his definition of "heights"; this one goes up about 400 feet. And it is partially over water, which throws some folks for a loop, too.

Here's your unsolicited bit of trivia for the day ~~

On a clear day, the balloon can be seen from Orlando Airport, approximately 13.5 miles away "as the crow flies". :balloon:

We were there yesterday and watched as a storm was brewing. The balloon was really blown:( sideways as they were bringing it down. It didn't go up again but it looked scarry to me when the wind started to blow. I'm only going up on really clear days!
