Crowds for Columbus Day?

We had to cancel our Mardi Gras trip this year and I'm trying to find a way to schedule a few days at Disney. My kids have the Friday and Monday/Columbus Day off of school next school year.

I know October is fairly light, but picks up on the weekend with Food & Wine. Also, typically Monday holidays can make for a busier weekend. Our last few trips were in September so my kids have never experienced big crowds at Disney. Will it be completely packed? Thoughts?

This was back in 2005...but we were there the week before and our last day was Columbus Day. The crowds were pretty light, except for Monday...MK was packed....wall to wall people basically....
