May 25, 1990 – “Here Come the Muppets” opened at Disney-MGM Studios at WDW, (Closed Sept. 2, 1991)
May 25, 1990 – The Disney/Touchstone film “Fire Birds” was released.
May 25, 1998 – The newly expanded Disney Orlando Animation Studios opened. The new “Magic of Disney Animation” tour includes an expanded viewing area where guests are able to meet Disney animation artists and see the ongoing work on future animated releases.
May 25, 2000 – Elton John and Tim Rice received an Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement in Musical Theatre for Disney’s “The Lion King.”
May 25, 2003 – The 2-month “Mickey’s All American Pin Festival” began at Disneyland.
May 25, 2004 – Member Homecoming began at the WDW Resort.
May 25, 2005 – The Disney Magic sailed Westbound for its first trip through the Panama Canal.
May 25, 2007 – The Walt Disney Presents Film “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” had its premiere in theaters.
May 25, 2007 – Radio Disney held the Planet Premiere of “What Time Is It,” the first single from “High School Musical 2.”
May 25, 2007 – Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” debuted in a record 4,362 theaters on the day it goes into release.
