Saturday May 17th

The first stop for today is Epcot. Caught a pic with Stitch. Daisy Duck flirted with my DH. I let it slide this time. :stitch:

We caught an early breakfast/lunch at Seasons in the Land pavilion. I had a salad and DH had a breakfast croissant.

We went to the Innovations to walk around. There was a new Velcro show thing and DH was the lucky participant (he always gets chosen for things (got to be in Indiana Jones last year! I don’t know if it’s the glasses or what.

He got to wear an apron and put tons of Velcro diapers on baby dolls. He won a sticker!

After while we made our way to DHS. Tried to get a FP for Midway Mania and they were all gone. We didn’t get to ride it on this trip, which was a shame. But we got to ride it two times in a row last year so that kind of makes up for it.

We went to do the Backlot Tour. We were happy to see that they were already letting people into the show so we wouldn’t have to wait. On the way in someone stopped us and asked us to be in the show. DH was all for it but I wasn’t too sure. I was NOT in the mood to get soaked. “You get rain coats.” I guess that was enough convincing for me. DH and I were the wacky ship crew that clean the front of the ship and act crazy when all of the shots come after you. I was very sad to realize that we did NOT get to keep a video of the show.

BTW I got soaked, even with the raincoats. I wish I would have had someone take a picture of us in the coats.

We had plenty of time to dry off though for our Brown Derby reservations that night.
I loved my meal and the experience. The restaurant was not too busy at all and a lot of the street actors came in and stopped at the tables and talked to everyone. We had a director sit at an empty table nearby ours with a mini binocular thing and he watched us eat for a few minutes. Pretty funny.

Then he said he was doing a documentary on true love and handed us his card. He stopped for a while and asked us about ourselves (in character of course). It was kind of fun.

We got warm bread as a starter.

I got the pork tenderloin. It was pretty much amazing. DH liked my meal better than his own. The bed of white stuff at the bottom was some type of pasta.

DH got the duck. He didn’t like how it was cooked. He didn’t want to send it back though, I guess.

And you can’t go to Brown Derby Inn without the Grapefruit cake!!1

It really was that amazing. The presentation was much more wonderful than I expected.
All in all I had a much better experience at the BDI than I anticipated.

Later that night we went to DTD. As far as I know the Characters in Flight balloon had been down our whole trip due to weather.

Thanks for the report Amanda. We were there the week before you and we waited in line for Toy Story Midway Mania for almost an hour. It was worth it though. Looking at your pictures is making me hungry!!!

Watching the battle scene at the Backlot is my favorite part of the tour. That is so cool that you got selected to be a part of the show.

And how about that Brown Derby?! It has become my favorite eatery in the World. The Tenderloin is always better than the Duck, by the way. Never seen it so empty as it is in your pics. I would love to have the Derby all to myself! :cloud9:
