May 20, 2003 – Disney released “Atlantis: Milo’s Return” direct-to-video.
May 20, 2003 – Disney’s 1977 animated feature “The Rescuers”, and was one of the last Disney classics to be animated by members of Walt’s “Nine Old Men”, was released on DVD.
May 20, 2005 – The Wonderful World of Disney aired “The Muppett’s Wizard of Oz.”
May 20, 2005 – The first of four Star Wars Weekends took place at Disney-MGM Studios in WDW. (May 20-22, and 27-29, June 3-5, and 10-12)
May 20, 2005 – The U.S. Postal Service issued a 37-cent stamp featuring Frank Gehry’s Walt Disney Hall (the home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic). The stamp is part of a series titled “Masterworks of Modern Architecture.”
May 20, 2005 – “Rolie Polie Olie” was awarded Outstanding Special Class Animated Program at the 32nd Daytime Emmy Awards held at Radio City Music Hall in N.Y.C.
May 20, 2005 – Marie Johnston, the wife of legendary Disney animator Ollie Johnston, passed away from complications due to pneumonia, at her home in Flintridge, Ca. She was 87. Marie worked in the ink and paint departments at both Warner Bros. And Disney (from 1940-1941).
May 20, 2005 – The first of 4-weekends began of the “Star Wars Weekends” at Disney-MGM Studios at WDW.
May 20, 2006 – Life size models of Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) and Sally Carrera (voiced by Bonnie Hunt), from the new animated feature Cars, began a 2-day exhibit at DTD West Side at WDW.
May 20, 2008 – Disney’s “National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets” was released on DVD and Blu-ray.
