Pixie dust and prayers for death in the family

A dear, sweet little boy at my school had his mom pass away unexpectedly this weekend. He could sure use some warm thoughts. Thanks!

I'm so sorry. I recently lost both of my parents but did not need to deal with this loss until I was an adult. I can't image needing to deal with such a loss as a child.

Sadly this is happening too often now.

My daughter had a friend who lost his mother to breast cancer when they were in 8th grade and another friend of her's just lost her father to cancer, and she was a sophomore in high school, and my son's best friend lost his father to brain cancer when he was in 8th grade.

I know many other students who have lost parents too, and sadly, my kids have lost classmates to cancer.

My prayers will be sent for this little boy.

I really hope his school offers counseling. At our high school they really need a support group for the kids since there have been so many parents deaths.

I was crushed when my dad passed suddenly this past October, and I'm an adult. For a child, I can't even imagine.

My thoughts and prayer's are with this little boy and his family. Losing someone at any age is difficult, I can't imagine losing a parent when you are that young.

I am so impressed by the school's response. The staff and students have wrapped their arms around this family. The administration and staff psychologist have been there every step of the way.
