Hi,

Does anyone know any nice hotels that are not too expensive near Hershey Park?

Thanks

The Holiday in near 80 isn't too bad and it's about a 20 minute drive to Hershe park- cheaper then the ones closer to Hershey. I believe there is also a comfort in right by I-80 that is reasonable.

We stayed in The Best Western, Harrisburg. 7 miles from the park, right off the highway. EASY, Clean and nice. Free breakfast! Indoor Pool.

$99 per night, last year.

If you are a AAA member, their travel services dept. can find a room for you as well.

I'm actually from the Hershey/Harrisburg area and have season passes to HP. It's a great park to spend the day at. With the addition of the new Boardwalk Area it will definitely be a 2 day park through. If it's your first visit and you like to ride - you'll love HP!

As for hotels, there is a Hilton Gardin Inn in Hershey that is about 3 miles from the park and according to their website it runs approximately $169 a night. Also, there is a Wyndham Garden Inn Harrisburg/Hershey (Eisenhower Blvd) which is about 10 miles from the park but very accessible to the highway leading into Hershey and it looks like it would run approximately $117 a night. Another option would be staying at a Hershey resort - they offer a package where you get hotel, tickets, character breakfast, transportation etc. The address is www.hersheypa.com if you'd like to check that out a little further.

Good luck and enjoy your visit:thumbsup:

We've stayed at the Holiday Inn, but the weekend rates seem to be a bit higher now that they have opened the new casino right up the road.

Spring Hill suites by Marriott are down the road. The hotel offers a continential breakfast in the morning. All of the rooms have a little refrigerator in them.

I made a reservation yesterday at White Rose Hotel. It is located one mile from Hershey. It isn't a chain. Family owned and the rates were awesome - $119 per night with AAA.

It gets outstanding reviews on Trip Advisor

I completely forgot about the casino. We will be there this weekend- but we are camping at Highmeadow campground. Hopefully the weather will cooperate for us. Hershey also has the zoo and Chocolae world. I too would say it's a two-day park.

A casino? Is it slots only or do they have table games? What town?
We are not big gamblers by any means but I didn't know PA had any gambling other than off track betting.

Penn National Raceway (which has been there for years) has been updated to include the Hollywood Casino. It is located just a few miles north of Hershey, near the intersection of Route 80 and 743 (which is also where the Holliday Inn is located). I think the town is Grantville. They have horse racing and slots, but I'm pretty sure they don't have table games (at least nothing more than the video table games). They also have several pretty good places to eat, including a buffet.

PA actually has 6-10 casinos with slots, some near Pittsburgh, one near Philly, a couple in the Poconos, and now one in the Lehigh Valley.
