gift cards?

Another quick question here...can you use Disney gift cards(like you would get for Disney Visa Rewards) for snacks and food at the parks or are they only for merchandise? I would like to give my daughter and son-in-law gift cards to use at the parks so they don't have to carry cash(they don't use credit cards) but if you can't use them for food I may need to rethink another plan.

You can use them pretty much anywhere. I used both a rewards card and gift cards on my last trip.

there are just a handful of places where gift cards can not be used. They typically can't be used with the vendors that sell stuff before the parades and there are a few food carts (usually extra ones put out when the parks are crowded) that don't have the ability to scan the cards. Other than that, gift cards can be used anywhere; stores, food, resort bill, entertainment, whatever - as long as it's a Disney establishment.
