The Sorcerers Apprentice Movie

Just found out Disney is currently filming The Sorcerers Apprentice in Manhattan. My dh saw them filming a scene from the movie on Tuesday. It is based in modern day Manhattan and Nicholas Cage is cast as the Sorcerer and Jay Baruchel is his apprentice. ( Jerry Bruckheimer is the producer). It is due to be released in July 2010. Info on the movie says that while the Sorcerer is away the apprentice tasks a broom to do his work, but the broom developes a mind of it own. Sounds interesting.:mickey:

It's being directed by the same guy that did National Treasure 1 & 2 and stars Nicholas Cage ... not sure about this one. :confused:

Late last night, two people were injured and taken to Bellvue Hospital after a high speed Times Square car chase scene went horribly wrong. The streets were closed down to film a scene for Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice which involved a Ferrari passing several vehicles on Seventh Avenue in pursuit of a Mercedes. But the Ferrari took a sharp right and lost control, swerving across the lanes, taking out a lamppost, a news stand and crashing into Sbarro. New York Post has video from the incident

Last night another accident related to the movie. It seems a few people from the production team were struck by an out of control car involved in a multi car accident in front of the Wintergreen Theater. They were coming out of a production meeting. Currently they are filming by Rock Center.
