airfares--wow!

Heads up to everyone! I don't know about prices from your airport, but from Cleveland, on Continental, I just got a roundtrip to Orlando in April (the 28th) for $118.00. And I checked other dates in May and June and some are at $118.00 and $128.00. So, what the heck, I guess I'll try for June too.

When planning our Disney trip for September, I checked airlines every day. We like flying Delta and on a Wednesday morning I checked and flying round trip from Hartford it was $354, that same evening I checked again and it went to $179 round trip. I booked immediately because the airfare went back up again to over $300 RT for one ticket. 161 days to go:mickey:

I know that SW keeps fluctuating too. I booked aifare for our May trip and it has gone down 2 times...however, it goes right back up again. :confused:

I was lucky to get airfare from BDL to MCO for $79.00 one way...$158.00 per person round trip!!!!

It definately pays to watch for the low fares.:mickey:

Yes, there are some really good airfares out there now, but you have to be flying from the right markets. We live in Amarillo and for our trip on Sept 5th-12th, the airfare for our family of four on American would be $1500. :spend:

By making the six hour drive to D/FW, it drops down to just over $700 R/T on American. While it's a bit more inconvenient, I'll put up with an extra 700 miles of driving and the cost of the gas to save $800 on airfare.

I agree with you MickeyandTink! I did the same thing last year only between CT and Providence, RI. For the difference in the airfare, I was able to add one more person to our trip by changing airports!!! I was willing to put up with a bit of a drive.

Great deals are out there, but not for all hubs or dates. It does pay to keep checking though!!!:cool:
